Tied on a brass US tube with a large conehead, these are heavy flies for faster water or getting down a bit quicker. They cast very well on a sinktip line and swim beautifully.
The wing is constructed in 3 layers with flash sandwiched in between, and the body is a spiky dubbing that’s brushed out with a yellow tag.
It all forms a lovely teardrop shape in the water that swims away on its own
This style can be tied fairly small and is fished with a free swinging hook, I found a single is best to avoid tangling
